WALTO® specializes in gourmet dog treats & desserts, handmade in small batches in Scarborough, ON. Our treats are often inspired by the flavors of our favorite human snacks, but are designed specifically with your dog in mind - meaning all of our recipes are nutritionally and biologically-appropriate, limited ingredient, and never contain any added salt, sugar, or artificial colors / flavors / preservatives / stabilizers. When we say “good dogs deserve good things”, we mean it!
THE TEAM + THE INSPO
WALTO is AAPI + female owned! All of our creations are designed and made by Sam (the human) and taste tested by Walter (the dog). Our brand was born out of wanting to see better design and better treats in the world of commercial pet food / in our own pantry - Walter’s a pretty picky guy, after all. After spending some time working in the pet retail industry and studying canine nutrition (plus lots of personal research on pet food ingredients), we decided to jump headfirst into making our own treats - and before we knew it, other people wanted to try our treats too!

If you’ve been with us a while, you might be wondering what happened to our old name, “in dogs we trust” / idwt.ca. Long story short, it turned out that we weren’t the only ones who thought it was a cool name! As our business continues to grow, we figured it was best to rename to something uniquely ours - and who better to name our next chapter after the reason we started all this in the first place?
